Hello backers, in the last update we let you know that we would be changing the molds and fixing the overflow issues, these new molds arrived in the UK today.
New Molds
On the left, we have the new improved dice, on the right the older dice.
Side by Side D8s
The D8 was remade from the ground up and hopefully, you can see the fixes we made.
D10/D100 Remakes
The D10/D100 we also remade, the spikes have had a reduction so are no longer touching and the tip of the die was reduced, you can compare them below. (New mold on the left) We are still leaning towards the older mold on this one, but feedback is welcome.
Side By Side D10s
What's Next?
Right now we are working on the pledge manager, we want to make sure the pledge manager runs smoothly before we open it to backers. We will be adding the new colors and new options and you will be able to swap dice sets around, update your shipping addresses, and so forth!
Saying that we do expect the pledge manager to be live by the end of next week, so please keep an eye on your emails.
Update 11

Hello Backers, just wanted to drop an update on what’s happing in regards to our last update.
The D8
The plan last time was to edit the existing molds to stop the metal running, we have done that but sadly it's only fixed part of the issue, The dice do look better but we are still left with excess metal forming in the star. Rather than keep going with editing the existing mold and recasting, we have opted to just remold a new dice. The new dice has an increased angle and although going down this route is more expensive it’s the fastest. See the attached image for the angle location.
Furthermore, we will be recasting with two factories at the same time, with one using precision-based machinery. This should mean the spikes are crisper, fine-tuned, and pointed. The lead time on a remold is 15-24 days from the factory and should be starting on Monday, which is about the same timeframe for two recasts if we were to keep modifying the existing molds, we have recast this current mold 3 times already.
The D10
We will also be doing a remold on the D10 and D100. Below is a new image of the dice. You will see that the spikes in this version are thinner which will prevent the metal build-up we have on ends of the spikes right now
Update #10

Hello, backers, we have been keeping you updated via the comments section but as a number of you are asking for updates, here is the current situation and what’s causing the delays.
When we ran a mass production sample test we found issues with how the D8, D10 and D100 polish and for the last two months have been trying to fix it, at first we thought this would be a simple fix, hence the lack of updates, rather we held off updates until we had good news but sadly that’s not the case. We know a fix is possible and have zero issues with the more detailed dice such as the D4 and D6 but the D8 is causing us a lot of issues, we are actively trying to fix the dice but it takes around 4-10 days for a mold adjustment and recast, and those days really add up fast.
The main issue we are trying to fix is found on the D8 in which metal is building up / running and clogging at the base of the star and thus causing a defect on the dice as shown in the below photos.
The D10/D100 are fine but these dice could be better they have excess metal over the star points, causing them to be fatter than they should be, this metal excess should be removed in the polish stage but not enough is getting removed. Saying that these dice aren’t horrible or really broken but could do with some TLC to improve them as the recast times are set by the laws of science we dont lose time adjusting the D10/D100 so it makes sense to review them while we work on the D8.
In terms of fixing the issue, we hired an external engineer on the 1st of July to see if they can address the issues, after the first week they have found a way to improve the D8 dice, but as D10/D100 dice are a little smaller he is still reviewing it to find a solution. We do hope for good news by the end of the week! But rather than waiting for said news, we are letting you know what’s going on right now.
Here are the photos zoomed in, so you can see the issues more clearly from the human eye these defects are small it’s around a 0.81mm defect so you need to look for the flaws to see them but these flaws are present and thus don’t have the quality we want to pass onto you. We apologize for the delays but quality means everything to us, as a consumer I’ve been let down by companies that have shipped lower quality products in the past and it’s not something I want you as backers to experience.
Photos:
When looking at image one you will notice that the star is clean, while in image two the star has a build-up of metal that obscures the points. This is the issue we are trying to fix.
I've made the area pink in the below photos so you can clearly see it, you will notice midway down the points formation is thicker and the metal build-up occurs in the bottom of the star.
As always you can contact us via Kickstarter messages, via email [email protected] or via Instagram https://www.instagram.com/blue.wizard.gaming/ all emails/questions are answered within 24 hours. In terms of the pledge manager as soon as we get this issued fixed we will open it.
Once again we apologize for the delays.
Update #9

Hello Backers, We hope you are all safe and well!
We have been working on the set since the lockdown in China was “lifted”. However, we are still dealing with a number of working regulations and restrictions that have been put in place as a result of the outbreak. These regulations, such as contact tracing and the fact that we are not able to get to the factory, have in turn caused issues with our timeframes. We understand the current situation is not the best; however, we are doing everything possible to keep the set moving forward and are looking at ways to compensate backers for the delays which will be finalized once we start to operate as usual.
What’s happened since our last update?
The molding of the set was finished about 2 weeks ago and samples have been shipped. Below are some pictures of the samples that we have received. Please note these are prototypes to test the molding functionality, there is a stage that occurs after this in which a lot of cleaning/tweaking to the mold occurs.
P.S Sorry about the photo glare, I've uploaded close-ups for the sets that my camera won't focus on due to the flash glare:
Ancient Silver
Ancient Bronze
Original Chrome
Scorched Earth
What about leather goods?
In terms of the dice trays and dice mats, the new prototypes should be posted in the next few days. The fashion industry in which the leather factory falls into was hit extremely hard. As a result, 7/10 factories are still closed in this sector, making it difficult to even purchase the raw materials needed for the trays and bags.
What about the pledge manager/shipping address changes?
The pledge manager will open once the items are ready to ship; once the pledge manager is open backers will receive an email and input the address that goods are to be sent to.
What’s next?
At present we are waiting for an update from the factory in regards to a few changes surrounding the set. We did want to update backers once we had news from the factory but with everything running slow it made more sense to post an update without that information in place.
The update we are waiting on is surrounding tweaks to some of the spikes and also the testing of different color variations on the chrome, right now the chrome is extremely reflective. Once these changes are made prototypes will be shipped to us again for review and then shipping timescales and the pledge manager will be opened. Right now we don’t have a timescale in place with everything taking longer than expected we would rather tread with caution.
