The update this month will be running later than usual as its National Day (October 1-7, 2021) in china, and as such we haven't any news from the factory. Once we get any form of news we will be posting updates as usual.
- The freight issues we had in the last update are resolved.
Just letting backers know that the delays right now are caused by the shipment getting damaged during transportation. The shipment should have been with the polishing factory 16 days ago so we could polish and prepare the shipments.
At this point we are still waiting for an update from the freight company.
Following our last update (seen here) we are moving forward with getting everything finalized, if you have moved please open the pledge manager and change the address.

Edit - We have also sent an email to all Kickstarter backers and backerkit backers for clarification, we class both PayPal and card payments as prepaid orders on the pledge manager. However, there is a difference, PayPal orders are collected right away, card payments on the other hand are NOT billed until we charge the cards. When we mention we will be billing you this is not the case for most people, this only applies if you used the pledge manager and paid via card. For Kickstarter backers, this would be paying for shipping via card, and for backerkit backers buying the set via card. If you use PayPal you have nothing to pay as we already collected that payment. The same for kickstarter if you paid for the set via kickstarter you won't be billed for the set again.

Hello, backers, like we stated in the last update we are finalizing the set and are giving the factory the go-ahead to wrap things up.
Based on the factory's time scales it should take 30-45 days for them to get everything in order and have them placed in shipping containers for shipment to us in the UK, the shipment normally takes 30-40 days or did when we ran our last large order, this may be slightly longer due to the customs changes surrounding Brexit and paperwork. Once the set lands we will be forwarding these sets to you.
Recap / Update:
As you are aware we had major issues with the set and have rejected several samples along with improving the overall sharpness of the set. If you compare the new set vs the older set you should see the spikes are a lot more detailed and sharp especially on the D8, D10/0.
Please note that on the ancient dice, the sets are going to be fully finished by hand which means that no two dice sets will be the same, they will be all unique in terms of coverage, and some sides will have more coverage than others. The scorched earth and chrome set will remain unchanged as these are not polished but dipped and you can see photos of those on our Instagram and past updates.
For those who are looking to modify the sets, or want all sets to be the same coverage we do have plans to approach model-based professional painters and have a paint-based tutorial made with insights into how you can modify the sets should you wish. This will involve you dry brushing the set with the correct paint type.
Improvements:
In terms of improvements, I've circled the areas of interest from the original photo that we posted in the past and run on the pledge manager. This should allow you to compare old sets vs the new sets. In the updated sets you should be able to see the spike improvements and the details a lot clearer.
Please note that I am having issues with the new photos and can't for the life of me get all the dice in focus at once. I was hoping the weather would improve so I could take photos outside with real light as I did in the past, but this is the north of the UK, we don’t get that lucky often.
Saying that I will be trying to split the set and do solo photographs then combining once I get the right light settings. We will also be regaining access to our Instagram and social channels for a few videos like we did with the scorched earth set, which was also a difficult dice set to photograph but the details look very nice in videos and hopefully will give a better size compression overall.

Below is the Old set D8 which has the running issues vs the new D8, You should be able to notice the drip at the bottom of the dice on the right and notice the spiked edges aren't as sharp, p.s this is the same dice as seen in the circled photo above just to give you an idea of how dark it is here and how zoomed in the photos are.
Below is the D10/D100 you should see the spikes are touching and are more chubby while the reworked dice the spike length was increased and the actual spikes made thinner, this allows you to get that extra detail. Again the same dice from the circled-based photos.
Here is a photo of the polish sample from the factory; the D6 in this set was rejected because of over-polishing, but the rest of the set was approved.
The next photo will show you the D6 in this set vs what we approved, the main issue was the spiked base which should be tipped, by this I mean it has a 0.2mm micro-edge and shouldn't be flat but you can see how the polishing changes the quality and feel.
This photo was taken colors outside for the factory and shows the actual gold colours a lot better than the other posted images we have posted here under lower lighting conditions.
Here are BOTH the ancient approved sets, again I apologize for the out of focus and I will try again next week or when the weather permits to get some better photo ops.

Compensation offer
We value every backer that backed us and although this isn't required and likely not been seen before in terms of Kickstarter campaigns we do feel that we owe backers for standing by us, you've all kept me moving forward through some very personal dark times surrounding what's going on in the world on top of what I'm about to say and I'd like to show gratitude for that.
After all, we are not a huge company by any means; you backed and supported a small independent company looking to produce fun and unique dice.
As a small company, Covid was extremely brutal for us, the restrictions and non-government aid/support left us feeling as if we were getting punched from every side, yet helpless to do anything about it, yet you kept us going.
With us pledging to deliver we were left with only one real option which was to take out additional collateral in the shape of a loan, this allowed us to finish the set and left us treading water rather than sinking.
The issue, is with that loan in place we cannot offer anything right now, we wish we could but it's financially impossible, in truth it's hard to even estimate how much we are in debt until these dice land/ship and customs charges/exports are finalized, the only plus side is the repayments aren't due till the 2022 tax year.
Therefore we are planning on running a future Kickstarter, this Kickstarter will produce multiple sets and several unique add-ons.
The new sets in terms of production are straight forward and we already have the infrastructure in place to cater for production. As we have produced sets in this manner before there won't be any issues. We will be placing a campaign based on something we know we can deliver; after all, we don't want a rerun of this campaign and feel this is the safest option.
With all that said here is what we have in mind:
We are going to try and offer at least 1 FREE set of dice to ALL backers of this campaign.
This would of course be offered depending on how well the future Kickstarter performs, it vastly depends on how we bear in terms of tax/loan repayments and the number of backers. If funded the worst-case scenario would be one free set if we come out better than expected this will be increased.
*This set will be free and offered to ALL backers but will be subject to shipping and handling fees, these will be low but will still apply.

Next update
The next update will be based on the factory and getting things wrapped up, you will also be getting emails in the following weeks if you've not filled in the pledge manager.
